At Strategic Psychological Services, we offer research-driven, experiential workshops designed to help you build resilience, manage stress, and grow in both personal and professional life. Our workshops provide practical tools, guided exercises, and expert facilitation to support your well-being in a safe, empowering environment.

Each workshop is carefully crafted incorporating evidence-based approaches from psychology, neuroscience, mindfulness, and personal development. Whether you’re looking to improve relationships, manage anxiety, or build mental strength, these workshops provide a supportive space to grow.

We believe in making mental health knowledge accessible—but these workshops are not therapy. Participation does not create a therapist-client relationship, and no diagnosis, treatment, or clinical recommendations will be provided. If you’re seeking therapy, we’d be glad to refer you to someone on our clinical team or provide other local resources.

Creative Calm

A Weekly Artsy Crafty Wellness Workshop for Connection & Relaxation

Life can be overwhelming, and finding ways to unwind and reconnect with yourself and others is essential for well-being. Creative Calm is a wellness workshop designed to help you relax, express yourself, and cultivate mindfulness through guided creative activities and stress-reducing techniques. Whether it’s watercolor, collage, colored pencils, or anything in between—if making things helps you breathe easier, you’re in the right place. Each session includes hands-on creative projects, calming techniques to settle your nervous system, and a warm, no-pressure space to connect with others who understand the joy of crafting as self-care. Led by a licensed psychologist with a background in mental wellness and creative expression, this group isn’t therapy—but it is deeply therapeutic.

You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need fancy supplies. You just need a willingness to show up, try something new, and make space for yourself.

Keeping Calm… Even When Everything is a Dumpster Fire

A 6-week group workshop for people who are overwhelmed, burned out, or one breaking news alert away from adopting a new identity and relocating to New Zealand. Sure, the fantasy of moving to a remote mountain cabin and starting a new life as an emotionally distant beekeeper is strong. But this workshop might be a more sustainable option. We’ll help you learn how to stay grounded, think clearly, and cope with chaos like a pro—even when the world is throwing plot twists like it’s on its final season.

Self-Portrait, Reimagined

Self-Portrait, Reimagined is a creative wellness workshop for anyone craving deeper self-understanding—especially during times of change or reflection. Through guided collage and mixed-media journaling, you’ll explore your identity in a way that honors complexity and resilience. Grounded in psychological science but not therapy, this experience offers emotional insight without pressure. It’s not about artistic skill—it’s about seeing your story in a new, more compassionate light. You’ll leave with a meaningful, tangible piece of art that reflects who you are and where you’ve been.

The Aligned Life

Explore who you are—Live what matters

When you pause long enough to ask, Who am I, really? and What do I actually want?—you start to uncover what’s been quietly guiding (or derailing) your choices all along. The Aligned Life is a 6-week in-person workshop designed to help you explore these questions with honesty, curiosity, and compassion.

Each session offers structured time for reflection, thoughtful conversation, and guided exercises that invite you to dig deeper—into your values, your patterns, your wants, and your “why.” You’ll leave each week more connected to who you are—and more confident in how you're choosing to live.

The Self-Compassion Lab

A 6-Week Foundations Workshop on Embracing Imperfection and Living with Intention

This workshop is for anyone who’s ever thought, “Shouldn’t I have it more together by now?” What if the path to growth wasn’t more pushing—but more patience? In this group, we’ll practice mindfulness, self-compassion, and cognitive tools to support your mental wellness without the usual pressure to "do better." It's not about being perfect—it's about being human, on purpose.

Research shows that having a clear sense of meaning improves mental health, reduces stress, and even contributes to a longer, healthier life. This 6-week interactive workshop is designed to help you uncover, redefine, and cultivate purpose in every stage of life. Whether you’re looking for a fresh start, navigating a transition, or simply ready to reignite your passion, this program will give you the tools, insights, and community support to live with intention.

The Anxiety Toolbox

Anxiety can make everything harder—sleep, focus, relationships, even enjoying the good stuff. This workshop gives you strategies that work in real life, so you can move through your day with more ease, confidence, and peace of mind. You’ll leave feeling more equipped to handle whatever life throws your way—without anxiety running the show.

The Art of Change

This workshop uses the healing power of creativity and community to help individuals navigate life’s transitions. Across 6 weeks, participants engage with themes of change, release, resilience, and growth through art-making. They experience first-hand what research has shown: that creative expression can reduce stress and foster emotional insight, and that sharing art in a group builds supportive bonds that alleviate feelings of isolation. By the end, each person has not only created several pieces of art, but also hopefully internalized the tools and confidence to continue using creativity as a means of coping with change beyond the workshop.

Mindset Monday

Kick off your week with a mental tune-up. Mindset Mondays are a weekly boost to help you shift out of autopilot, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and set clear intentions for the days ahead. It’s like a reset button for your brain—so you can move through the week feeling more grounded, motivated, and in control.

Open Studio Creative Hour

Unwind, reconnect, and spark your creativity at our Open Studio Creative Hour. Step into a welcoming space designed for you to explore art at your own pace—no pressure, no judgment, just inspiration. Whether you’re finishing a masterpiece, experimenting with something new, or simply looking to relax through creative expression, our doors (and art supplies!) are open. Join us and give yourself the gift of playful creativity and mindful connection.

Making Meaning:

A Collaborative Art Experience

Making Meaning is a lighthearted, creative group experience designed to bring people together through playful, art-based collaboration. Perfect for friend groups, families with older teens, adult siblings, or any mix of fun-loving humans, this guided 60-minute session helps you slow down, connect, and create something meaningful together—no artistic experience required! We are able to accommodate up to 12 participants in our Lincoln office or we can bring  Making Meeting to you.

While not therapy, her weekly and multi-week workshops are grounded in psychological science and offer practical tools, meaningful insights, and a supportive space for people to not only reduce stress—but to actively invest in themselves, build momentum, and cultivate the life they want to lead.

  • Cheryl Waity, MFT, LIMHP

    Cheryl Waity, MFT, LIMHP is a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in helping people build stronger, more connected relationships. She leads engaging, research-informed workshops that focus on improving communication, deepening emotional connection, and navigating challenges with clarity and care. While not therapy, Cheryl’s workshops offer a supportive space to explore practical strategies for creating healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

  • Krystal Kirby, LIMHP

    Krystal Kirby, LIMHP is a licensed independent mental health practitioner who leads calming, skills-focused workshops that help participants manage stress and anxiety with more confidence and ease. Drawing from evidence-based techniques, Krystal creates a supportive, down-to-earth space where people can learn practical tools to feel more grounded, focused, and capable—both in the moment and over time. Her workshops are not therapy, but they are a powerful way to invest in your well-being and build lasting mental wellness habits.
