About Dr. Amanda Holmgreen

Dr. Amanda Holmgreen is a licensed clinical psychologist in Nebraska providing psychological care for individuals in high-stress, high-responsibility roles who are seeking support from a therapist who understands these complexities.

I'm a licensed psychologist, founder of Strategic Psychological Services, and have spent much of my career working in high-stakes environments. My professional work has centered on specialized assessment, crisis response, and consultation, working alongside professionals in healthcare, corrections, public safety, the legal system, and government agencies to support organizations managing complex behavioral situations.

I have completed hundreds of forensic psychological evaluations, provided services related to the assessment and treatment of high-risk sexual and violent offense behaviors, testified in legal proceedings, trained professionals working in elevated-risk environments, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams responding to serious concerns involving public safety.

My professional experience includes work as a psychologist in Nebraska correctional facilities, the Nebraska Regional Center, residential treatment, private practice, and crisis response settings. I have served on crisis response teams working alongside law enforcement, volunteered with Nebraska's Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team, participated on the First Responder Support Team, provided disaster mental health services through the American Red Cross, and completed specialized training in crisis negotiation, public safety psychology, violence risk assessment, and threat assessment and management.

Throughout my career, one theme has remained consistent: I understand how responsibility, visibility, and success reshape a person's world and identity.

Today, my clinical work draws directly on that background. In my therapy practice, I work with adults navigating high-stress careers, major life transitions, identity concerns, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and the lasting impact of significant life experiences. Many of my clients are people who have spent years being the one others rely upon. They often arrive functioning well on the outside while privately carrying experiences, pressures, or questions that have become increasingly difficult to manage alone.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and evidence-informed. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic model, I integrate established psychological approaches based on each person's goals, strengths, and circumstances. Therapy is not simply about reducing symptoms — it is an opportunity to better understand yourself, strengthen relationships, develop greater psychological flexibility, and build a life that feels aligned.
