Cheryl Waity, LIMHP, MFTLicensed TherapistCheryl Waity is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master of Science Degree in Child, Youth and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She earned her certification in Medical Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and she is trained and experienced in providing telehealth services. Cheryl is a clinical member of AAMFT and NAMFT. Cheryl is trained and experienced in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, the Good Lives Model, various parenting methods and Gottman Couple’s Counseling. She considers herself to be a lifelong learner, and regularly attends trainings to expand her clinical skills in an effort to better serve her clientele.
Cheryl enjoys working with individuals and couples interested in improving the quality of their lives. She believes that everyone has room to improve their coping abilities, social skills, and problem solving capabilities. She approaches therapy in a transparent manner, educating clients on her methods and reasoning while welcoming feedback and questions. Cheryl has extensive experiences working with high risk individuals, couples, and families struggling with communication, boundaries, self-esteem, misconduct, depression, anxiety, substance use, self-harming behaviors, suicidality, and major mental illness. |
