If you are a client meeting with Dr. Holmgreen for an evaluation, you can feel comfortable knowing that she provides a welcoming environment and will provide clear expectations to help you feel at ease throughout a process which can sometimes be intimidating for those who've never been through it before. Dr. Holmgreen is a licensed psychologist with specialized training in Forensic Psychology. She has experience completing LB1199 evaluations pertaining to the State's Sex Offender Commitment Act as well as Pre-Sentencing evaluations at the request of the District Court while working for a number of years at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. She is also experienced with Mental Health Board testimony and the civil commitment process. With extensive knowledge of offense behavior as well as how mental illness may or may not interface with these behaviors and it’s application to the law, Dr. Holmgreen is able to use this knowledge to help the courts answer the specific legal question at hand in forensic settings. For those who wish to consult with Dr. Holmgreen, she has ample experience working alongside multiple security forces in interdisciplinary team environments mitigating risk in threat management situations throughout her time supervising the Mental Health departments at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center and the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution. Dr. Holmgreen was awarded the 2015 Supervisor of the Year for the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center Administration Services reflecting positive leadership and team-building abilities as well. Dr. Holmgreen is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA). She is passionate about public safety and critical incident response and has also volunteered on the Nebraska State Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team and as a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health responder for a number of years. In addition to gaining training and experience pertaining to violence risk and offense behavior as mentioned above, she has spent many years focusing training in other police/public safety psychology topics such as individual and mass casualty crisis response, critical incident debriefing, psychologist consultation in operational callouts, psychological risks and care of first responders, threat assessment and management, officer-involved shootings, etc. She is able to use knowledge gained from her training and experience in corrections to apply fundamentals of offense behavior and risk as well as knowledge of both pretrial and post-trial forensic principals to aid in risk management and liability mitigation for agencies through a number of modalities.
